AQUADYN®
Hollow Fiber Modules
AQUADYN® modules are encased ultrafiltration hollow fiber membrane modules which effectively reduce micro-organisms and suspended solids from water. The AQUADYN® series offers a comprehensive range of filtration modules for a wide spectrum of applications. At a choice of either modified Poly Acrylonitrile (PAN) or Poly Ethersulfone (PES) a huge selection of module sizes is available.
These innovative membrane modules are developed by MANN+HUMMEL with vast R&D and business experience in filtration. The modules are manufactured under strict supervision and quality checks.
Due to the optimized design efficient flow distribution, enhanced cleaning, minimal pressure drop and high packing density can be achieved. For applications requiring large capacities, extra-large modules are available (10“ x 60”).
Moreover, the AQUADYN® UA (PAN) as well as the AQUADYN® UE (PES) materials are superior in their hydrophilic property compared to most other polymeric materials. The enhanced hydrophilic property improves the wettability and reduces operating pressure. Additionally, it makes the membrane more resistant to fouling; resulting in less cleaning cycles and reduced chemical usage.
The double asymmetric hollow fiber membranes offer another advantage over single asymmetric membranes. Bacteria, solids and turbidity can be rejected effectively due to a filtration layer inside and outside the hollow fiber. Therefore, problems such as pore clogging during backflush do not occur.
ADVANTAGES
- » high flow rates (high hydrophilicity)
- » high and stable permeate performance
- » most reliable process (double asymmetric hollow fiber membranes)
- » effective retention of particles and bacteria
- » easy pre-treatment (100µm)
- » compact installation
- » high productivity
- » flexible flushing modes
- » low chemical demand

The BIO-CEL MBR combines advantages of both hollow fiber and flat plate technology to operate at high MLSS levels than secondary clarifiers, resulting in a smaller footprint. The membrane laminate also has a self-healing mechanism. In case of any damage, the spacer material in between the BIO-CEL membrane laminate sheets allows for a sealing of the damage. Its unique design reliably prevents deposition of sludge and fiber accumulation during continuous crossflow operating process.

EFFECTIVENESS
Reverse osmosis (RO) membranes remove a large majority of contaminants from water, including even the smallest monovalent ions like silica and chloride as well as micro-contaminants like pesticides and fertilizers. RO is capable of rejecting over 99% of dissolved salts (ions), particles, organics, and more from the feed water.
DIRECT REPLACEMENT
MICRODYN RO elements are available in standard 4” and 8” spiral-wound designs with either a high rejection brackish water (BW) RO membrane or a low energy (LE) RO membrane to meet all of your new equipment and direct replacement needs. MICRODYN RO elements make it easy to directly replace competitive RO elements without adapting existing hardware.
AVAILABILITY
MICRODYN RO elements are available globally and can be sourced from our plants in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. MICRODYN-NADIR carries a significant inventory and can ship sooner than competitors.
QUALITY
The MICRODYN RO series of brackish water RO membranes is ideal for water purification applications. These elements utilize our very best brackish water membranes and are an excellent alternative to higher-priced elements with limited availability.

EFFICIENT AND HIGH PERFORMANCE MEMBRANE PRODUCTS TO MEET ALL YOUR WATER NEEDS
WASTE WATER TREATMENT
In most of the process plants, which wastewater are generated during the production process, cleaning of equipment or rinsing of containers. This wastewater have to be properly treated in order to adhere to the effluent discharge requirement. The UF serves as an effective treatment for the removal of TSS and other contaminants.
PHARMACEUTICAL
We offer high performing ultrafiltration to pharmaceutical industries that require Purified Water (PW). Our hollow-fiber UF can effectively remove total suspended solids, turbidity, bacteria and viruses.
SEMI-CONDUCTORS
Semi-conductor chip manufacturing require ultra-pure water at every stage of their process to be used in cleaning, etching process and rinsing of semi-conductor parts. The UF and RO form alongside a series of water treatment process to effectively remove contaminants, minerals, microorganisms, TSS and turbidity.
CONSTRUCTION
In most tropical climate, that face unpredictable rainfall, construction site stormwater surface runoff that was generated on site would need to be properly treated before releasing to the public drainage. According to the water discharge standards set forth by the Public Utilities Board, the silty water need to be treated to <50mg/L of TSS before discharge. The AQUADYN® UA860 UF membrane can effectively be deployed as part of a system to remove the TSS.
AGRICULTURE
Water sources such as ground water, surface water or waste water can be used for the irrigation of the crops. The raw water require treatment such as UF and RO filtration to make it more acceptable for end-use, in this case agricultural irrigation.
INDUSTRIAL
Water is an important component throughout the onshore production process and offshore facilities to oil refineries and the treatment of wastewater is one of the main environmental issue faced by oil and gas companies. The UF is known for its ability to completely remove all suspended solids and free/emulsified oil.
